This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 02, 2008:
My top 10 conversation types, ranging from most annoying to funnest:
10. The most difficult topic for me: "What are you going to do this weekend?" "What are you going to do for the upcoming holiday?" I don't know! Give me a fucking break! If you actually know the answer to that question, your life is so much more organized than mine that you make me SICK. Please, please, please don't EVER ask me this question again.
9. Diet and exercise
8. At work we blow off steam complaining about how hard it is to do our jobs, but in a positive way, where we also help each other cope and do a better job.
7. Travels new places, other cultures
6. Kids, our kids, the younger generation--how is their world different from/the same as ours---how are they different/same as we were? WHO are they?
5. How to make really good food, where to get the ingredients
4. Really interesting ideas--like new concepts: new designs for communities; ways to power things that don't use fossil fuels; technologies; the impact of organic agriculture vs. factory farms on democracy and civil society; applications of ancient ideas to society today; how people learn things.
3. Stories about your life or my life, so that we know each other, understand each other better, learn something about life
2. Stuff that makes us laugh--funny movies, Freudian slips, gaffs, farts, jokes...
1. Flirting--and the chemistry is great!!!

Help

I am so pleased I have shared #2, 3, some of 4, ate some of 5, 6, 7 and some of 8, avoided 9 and will never ask 10!
And it was pure joy for me to do so!
Want some coffee Martha??
lol
Hi Aley, I would LOVE to have coffee with you again! Yes! 2,3,4,5,6,7 and some of 8 were great! I'd LOVE to come back and visit! Thank you for being a wonderful friend.
One of these days, martha, our paths will cross in the physical world and this guide will help me immensely!
Here's one vis-a-vis #2 on your list:
A Buddhist monk walks into a bar and the bartender asks, “What would you like?”
The Buddhist monk responds, “I'd like you to make me one with everything.”
;-)
I like #3 the best…..actually liked reading your entire list. You have a delightful way of writing and sharing in your blogs. By the way, what do you think of the question, “What have you being doing lately?” That's probably #10….even worse than what are you going to be doing?
Hi Nishtha! I bet you're on pins and needles tonight, right on the very edge of sanity tonight, just like me… waiting, hoping, anticipating what's going to happen tomorrow! I know you've got such a well developed civic dimension of your world vision. I've got to pop by your blog this evening! Oh, and when I heard it, it was a guru ordering a hotdog! :)
Hi Centria, gee I'd love to spend some #3 time with you anytime! About “what I've been doing lately?” Gee, I usually have more to say about that than the poor innocent who asks me would ever want to hear. I've learned to stay a layer or two under cover, and have invented handy phrases, like “Keeping out of trouble,” and “same old, same old…” to see if they really want to know more or not. I should invent a couple of stock answers to question #10, shouldn't I? Like, “Oh, I'm planning to spend some family time,” or “I'm planning to shoot some wolves with Sarah when we do that helicopter ride.” Just stuff like that…
And we will indulge with 2, 3, and 4.
lovely martha,
Samme
I hope so someday! :)
